Numbers were down a bit today – just two runners and ten walkers –but we who were there enjoyed a clearly marked trail over some lovely Gloucester countryside. It was a bit longer than usual – the walkers took an hour and forty minutes and the runners about two hours – and this caused a bit of a worry for those who had booked their lunch in the pub for 1230 – but more of this anon.

We set off down the high street and then left along a lane that led along the back of the houses and then on out into the open countryside. There were lots of stiles I remember and they were all awkward ones so it was a good thing we stuck together to help each other. Julie came round with us to make sure we didn’t get lost so she must have walked a few miles.

Towards the end those who had booked lunch for 1230 started walking like race walkers to get back in time. The hash was then divided; some went inside to eat and the rest of us sat outside with a pint.

The ‘outsiders’ sat round a big table and Kathy made a very nice speech thanking Kevin and Julie for another enjoyable hash. Some time after that, the runners Keith and the other Julie, came running in – looking very hot and tired but they soon recovered and joined us outside.

Thank you Kevin and Julie for another interesting and well laid trail.
