Jeremy was one of the founding runners of our hash in 1998 and he has laid a few trails in his time – so you would not be surprised to hear that today’s hash was rather good. A pity really that only about a dozen of us were there to enjoy it – mostly walkers – apart from Viv and John, who deserve a special mention as they were the only hashers to run the long – what would we do without them !
We gathered for briefing in the main car park and then set off on what has now become a familiar route – turning right off the main road and over the river into the woods and fields there. I walked a shortened version of the short as I’m feeling my age a bit now – and Greg kindly kept me company. We got back to the pub about 20 minutes before anybody else and had a couple of beers in the covered area in the garden. Everybody else did the full trail and came back full of enthusiasm for it – and settled down happily with us in the garden The après was, as usual, a relaxed and enjoyable affair with the usual speeches of thanks to the hare
