I must be rather special as I have only been to three hashes and every time I have been awarded a prize. On the first hash I was presented with a pair of old knickers, on the second I had the honour of giving the knickers to someone else and on Sunday I was given the honour of writing the mag – so here we go.
The beauty of today’s walk was the fine company, weather and exploring the countryside. I thought I knew a little about Charlton as I had visited the village a few times in the past, but there is always more to discover. There were about twenty hashers and three dogs in the car park all of whom looked highly professional. Keith and Kay gave us a talk about all the choices of trail that we had, There was a short and a medium and a long. I didn’t know which to go on so I followed my mentor Anne on the short trail and it was lovely. We wandered over great open fields in warm sunshine and discovered lots of interesting things like some lovely old cottages and, unusually, a sign saying “no access for loungers”. I’ve no idea what that was about . It didn’t seem long before we were back and then we all sat out in the lovely garden in hot sunshine and I enjoyed the company of friendly and kind people.
As I seem to have run out of possible hashing honours – that must be my last walk !
Attagirl, Andrea – well done! And many thanks to Keith and Kay – a delightful hash in perfect weather… what more could we ask for? And Noodle… I’m sure all those growling and yapping noises meant you consented…..! Kx
Well done Andrea, you’ve passed your initiation into hashing!!
That was a really good trail on Sunday Keith, many thanks.
Grrr – I haven’t signed up to the GDPR so why is my picture on the web?
I never saw the sign referred too above. Perhaps it was meant to say ” no access for scroungers” ? That at least would make some sense.
Anyway, I was pleased nobody got lost and no ankles were turned on the rough ground.
Thanks Andrea for doing the mag.
Keith.
