We were a small but perfectly formed Hash group today. It’s that time of year when people have other stuff to do, although obviously not as exciting as Hashing. Am I correct in thinking this is the first Hash with only a single runner? It was Jeremy of course, but we did have some walkers who did the long as well.

Keith’s trail was well planned, the first bit was a 2 mile circular loop and if you wanted more you could do another 2 mile circular loop. Perfect given the heat of late; not too taxing, no hills, cows or stiles. We were blessed with cooler weather though, so not too exhausting.
Just a short way into the Hash an “on on “ was called out. This drew a comment from a passer by who asked if we were Hashing. This lady was familiar with Hashing so having established she was still a runner, we gave her our details and we can but hope. She looked very fit, had a sunny disposition and I think may possibly lower our average age too. Keep your fingers crossed everyone.

I talk too much to pass on many details but highlights were the lovely old mill, a swan with cygnets , winding streams, the Windrush River, more wild flowers than you can shake a stick at and of course, lovely views.

Hilary and Gregg couldn’t stay for the apres, but the rest of us gossiped in the front room of The Bull. Mike and I had forgotten the horn (as usual) and Kevin awarded Jeremy the bags for being the only runner – I think. Then I got confused because Jeremy has to give them back to Kevin next time – I can’t remember why. But I might have got that bit wrong.
Thank you Keith , it was perfect – even though Jeremy didn’t kick out some of the circles for the following walkers.
